Photos: Ásgeir at Falls Festival

Icelandic solo singer-songwriter Ásgeir performed his melodic folk tunes at this years Falls Festival alongside an impressive line-up featuring SBTRKT, Vance Joy, Alt-J and the band covered for Ásgeir's Like A Version in July, Milky Chance.

Ásgeir's debut album In The Silence explores the space between traditional folk and a modern electronic sound, similar to Bon Iver. Each song possesses emotive vocals accompanied by precious melodies which make the album easy to love.

The album was first released in Iceland however has since been translated to English and released internationally in 2014 due to its popularity in his home country. As the English version was released last year that makes it eligible for a vote in the Hottest 100!
