Photos by Brooke Tunbridge The Smith Street Band rocked the Metro Theatre last night, bringing along Luca Brasi, Joelistics and Jess Locke as support acts.

Turning up early for the first support act, Jess Locke, was a good idea. I'm thankful for being introduced to her music, it's great! Joelistics pumped up the crowd with his track "Days" and the others he ran through.

The sold out crowd definitely gave the security guards something to do, especially during Luca Brasi and of course The Smith Street Band. Tassie band Luca Brasi sent the crowd wild with their crazy amount of energy.

The Smith Street Band frontman Wil Wagner said they've been working on songs for a new album (out next year) and premiered a track called "Death To The Lads", which Wil said was about the buff dudes that take their shirt off at gigs. When a crowd member jumped onto the stage, Wil made a point that if he wants to be on stage, he should start his own band, "we've worked hard to get here", Wil added.

The line-up proved to be just as good live as it appears written on the tour poster, it was a great range of artists who all gave incredible performances. We can't wait to hear the new music The Smith Street Band are promising.
