Is your wardrobe lacking zest? Freshen up a boring jacket with this funky upcycle. I bought my patches at a flea market for $2 each, but you can find hundreds of designs online. In only a few minutes, you can make an exciting and inexpensive statement piece!

You will need:

  • Denim jacket

  • Selection of iron-on patches

  • Clothes iron

  • Ironing board

  • Cloth rag

How to:

  • Decide on the position of your patches while jacket is laying flat (hint: avoid seams, shoulders and elbows)

  • Set the clothes iron to a hot cotton setting

  • Cover the patch with a cloth rag

  • Iron the patch evenly for 30 - 40 seconds

  • Reinforce the patch by ironing the opposite side for 20 – 30 seconds

Remember to use a gentle cycle when washing your jacket. If the edges of your patches lift, simply iron flat again. Hope you get lots of compliments on your upcycle!
