Are you Ready for Groovin The Moo?

Groovin The Moo kicks off tomorrow with Oakbank being its first leg of the touring festival, visiting 6 regional Australian towns.
We’ve talked amongst those who have attended the much-loved festival over the years to get the hacks on how to make the most of the day.
1. Pack light
This means taking a small bag with only the essentials, unless you NEED something that requires a bigger bag, don’t bring it. You’ll spend your time queuing in the bag check lines rather than in front of the stage.
We suggest taking a poncho (or a garbage bag) depending on your financial status after buying your outfit for the day.
If you attended GTM last year, you will know that if it has rained at all in the lead up to the event, you need to wear boots/gum boots or be prepared to be covered in mud (maybe be prepared for that either way).

2. Map and set times
(Which you can find here) Print these off, or wait until you’re given them at the festival. Figure out when you have to run from one stage to the other and when you’ll have some time to just wander around, eat, line up for a portaloo, or dance (in the mud?).
3. Have a meeting point
As Groovin The Moo tours regional areas of Australia, the phone service isn’t the best. Add thousands of festival attendees to that regional area all trying to contact their lost friends and the service weakens. To solve the issue of having limited reception (at the start of the day) decide on a meeting spot. Your friends might all meet there at a certain time before going to see a set, or refuel with some vendor food. Whatever you’re meeting up for, don’t rely on having your phone (which may not have very much battery life left after you just recorded majority of Sticky Fingers’ set). When not using your phone, putting it on aeroplane mode will (hopefully) help preserve the battery. If you have a charger case, we suggest taking that.
4. Cash not card
We suggest taking cash to the festival so that you don’t have to queue in the ATM lines, or get the extra fees. It makes it much easier for everyone and is little effort that you have to go in order to make this happen.
5. Get ready to be amoosed
BECAUSE IT’S TIME FOR GROOVIN THE MOO!
