Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie is a Nigerian author who grew up reading British and American literature which inspired her to write novels featuring African characters. Her latest work, We Should All Be Feminists is adapted from her TEDxEuston talk from 2013, where she addresses social constructions, politics, her experience of being an African woman- calling for global feminist action. The video has reached over two million views, Adichie's speech gaining popularity as it was sampled in Beyoncé's "***Flawless".

The Swedish Women’s Lobby, together with publishing company Albert Bonniers Förlag, the UN Association of Sweden, and several other partners, said it would ensure that a free copy of the book makes its way into the hands of every second-grade high school student in Sweden. Over 100,000 copies have been given out so far, and the Swedish Women’s Lobby also plans to distribute discussion guidelines to teachers next month. Their hope is that the book will work as a stepping stone for a discussion about gender equality and feminism.

"This is the book that I wish all of my male class mates would have read when I was 16. It feels so important to contribute to this project. It is a gift to all second grade high school students, but it is also a gift to ourselves and future generations", says Clara Berglund, Chairperson of Swedish Women’s Lobby.
