There's a good chance that you've heard Clea's angelic voice being played on Triple J recently. The song you would have heard is called "Dire Consequences" and Clea has just released a dreamy music video for the track. We thought we'd explore her music more in depth and fill you in on everything you need to know about Clea.

Clea Pratt is a 20-something Brisbane songwriter and Triple J Unearthed favourite. Her rousing indie melodies are the perfect backing track for late night drives or melancholy afternoons.

The first notes of Cleas (pronounced Clay) debut single “Polyester” are compelling. Imagine the soft acoustic guitar of The Paper Kites mixed with Laura Marling’s confident vocals. Although Clea’s voice is tender, its strength is obvious. The recording is so clean, you will get shivers down your spine from the tap of tongue against teeth or the squeak of fingers on fretboard. This enchanting track sets the bar very high.

Her latest single “Dire Consequences” features vocals so haunting they’ll give you chills. Electric guitar, drums and brooding backing vocals replace the pared back instrumentation of her debut. Once again, Clea’s voice is the main attraction, holding listeners under her spell until the final note.

Like the sounds of that? Get excited because Clea plans to record her EP later this year. Until then, you can show your support by following her on Triple J Unearthed, Soundcloud, Instagram and Facebook.
